Terms of Service

Last updated: May 2026

These terms cover your use of Calyphant. By creating an account, you agree to them. We try to keep this readable — if anything is unclear, email hello@calyphant.com.

The service

  • Calyphant is a web-based PostgreSQL database management platform.

  • We provide tools to browse, edit, and monitor your databases, manage schema migrations, and collaborate with your team.

  • The service requires an active internet connection and a supported browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge — all modern versions).

  • We offer a free plan and paid plans as described on our pricing page.

Your account

  • You must be 16 or older to create an account.

  • You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. Use a strong password and enable any 2FA we offer.

  • You are responsible for everything that happens under your account. If you suspect unauthorized access, contact us immediately.

  • You may not share accounts between multiple people — each person should have their own.

Acceptable use

  • Use Calyphant for lawful purposes only.

  • Do not attempt to access databases you do not have permission to access.

  • Do not use the service to store or process data that violates applicable laws (GDPR, NDPR, etc.).

  • Do not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the platform's API beyond normal usage.

  • Do not use the AI features to generate content that violates our acceptable use policy.

Your data

  • You own your data. We do not claim any rights to the data in your databases or workspace.

  • You grant us a limited license to process your data only as necessary to provide the service.

  • You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to connect the databases you connect.

  • You are responsible for compliance with data protection laws governing the data you store.

Payments and billing

  • Paid plans are billed monthly. Payments are processed by Flutterwave.

  • All prices are displayed on our pricing page. We'll notify you of price changes at least 30 days in advance.

  • Refunds are handled case by case — contact us within 7 days of a charge if you have an issue.

  • If your payment fails, we'll notify you and give you 7 days to update your payment method before downgrading your account.

Service availability

  • We aim for 99.5% uptime but do not provide a formal SLA on non-enterprise plans.

  • We perform maintenance occasionally, usually announced in advance. Emergency maintenance may happen without notice.

  • We are not responsible for downtime caused by third-party services (your database provider, Flutterwave, etc.).

Termination

  • You can delete your account at any time from your settings. Your data will be deleted within 30 days.

  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where practical.

  • If we shut down the service, we'll give at least 60 days notice and provide a data export.

Liability

  • Calyphant is provided 'as is'. We are not liable for any data loss, business interruption, or other damages arising from use of the service.

  • Always maintain your own backups of critical databases, independent of Calyphant's backup feature.

  • Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the last 12 months.

Changes

  • We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email at least 14 days in advance.

  • Continued use of the service after that date means you accept the new terms.
